Delenas and its islands cover 3 time zones. The GMT - 9 zone (bordering US Pacific time GMT - 8, Los Angeles) covers all regions and islands west of the Mediterre River. GMT - 10 is the time zone of the capitol city. It covers the western half of the mainland, as well as all islands beneath it. Western Islands Standard Time, GMT - 11, covers the western islands of the country. Since this time zone borders the International Dateline West time zone, it is one of the last places on earth to greet the new day. A special New Year's Eve party is held each year on the westernmost island to celebrate the completion of the new year's arrival.
