Our Currency

What makes money in Delenas unique from the rest of the world is that coins are non-existent. After extensive government research, studies showed that the general public saw coins only as an annoyance. As a result, the coinage system was abolished in 1972. Amounts less than ₤1 are still charged for very small items, such as a candy bar, however it is always paid for by credit card. This causes little problem due to the fact that 98.2% of Delenic households own a computer with Internet access, so bills are also paid online directly from the bank, the only other place in the country where amounts less than ₤1 are used.
